Active Senior Home
A community that cares for everyone
“We don't fear old age”
About CuratioW Active Senior Home in Rajcza
CuratioW Active Senior Home was created by people who devoted their entire professional lives to caring for others. We have been operating since 2018 in the heart of the Beskid Żywiecki mountains, in Rajcza — far from the city bustle, close to nature.
Our mission
In 2018, we began exploring how we could use our education, professional experience, and passion for working with people to genuinely improve the quality of life for seniors. Traditional care homes were associated with isolation and passive waiting — we wanted to create the opposite. A place where mature age is not the end of activity, but its new chapter. We named this place CuratioW — from the Latin curatio, meaning care. It is the word around which we build every day at our facility.
Our philosophy is captured in three words: we don't fear old age. Because old age treated with respect, surrounded by care, and filled with meaning — ceases to be a reason for fear.

Jolanta Wenc
Founder and facility manager
40 years of experience in the medical field. 15 years working as a nurse in the pediatric hematology ward, including many years as a coordinating nurse. Primary care nurse experience with elderly and chronically ill patients. Master's degree in nursing with a specialization in geriatrics, and a Master's degree in health education and promotion. Numerous specialist medical certifications.
Every senior deserves to have their days filled with purpose, human contact, and a sense of safety. This is not a luxury — it is the foundation of a dignified old age.
Our philosophy
We believe that activity — physical, mental, and social — is the key to a good life at any age. That is why our residents are not passive patients, but participants in the daily life of the facility. Regular therapeutic activities to prevent isolation, contact with nature, and intergenerational meetings with the primary school in Cięcina — all of this makes up everyday life at CuratioW.
Our team
The CuratioW team includes a nurse, medical caregivers, and a massage technician. On-call medical care is provided by an internist with whom we cooperate continuously.
Therapeutic activities
We activate our residents through diverse forms of therapy — each tailored to individual needs and abilities.
Occupational therapy
We engage residents in activities that increase their independence in everyday life.
Art therapy
Painting, drawing, projective drawing and music as a way to express emotions and reduce stress.
Social therapy
Group work, building relationships, and developing social skills.
Graphomotor exercises
Drawing patterns, crumpling paper balls, modelling with plasticine.
Sensory integration therapy (SI)
Support for those with sensory processing difficulties — helps with hyperactivity, concentration problems and motor 'clumsiness'.
Hand therapy
Work on precise movements of the hands and fingers — crucial for older adults.
General fitness exercises
Exercises using light dumbbells, resistance bands or body weight.

Our location
Rajcza lies in the heart of the Beskid Żywiecki mountains, about 25 km from the town of Żywiec — surrounded by spruce forests and hills. Clean mountain air and the regional microclimate support residents' health, particularly those with upper respiratory conditions. Next to the facility stands a historic chapel built in 1912, where services are held regularly. Thanks to our proximity to Żywiec (about 25 km), we are a conveniently located care home for seniors from Żywiec and the wider Żywiec County.
